On May 28, HSMD joined the world in celebrating Menstrual Hygiene Day. This special day helps raise awareness about periods and teach people that menstruation is normal and should never be a reason for shame.

With the support of the Rwanda Women SRHR Network, we gathered with girls, single mothers with disabilities, parents, students, and local leaders to talk openly about periods and how to stay clean and healthy.

Why We Celebrated

What We Achieved

Our Message

This day showed that when we come together, we can make periods safe, clean, and shame-free for everyone. Let’s keep the conversation going — in homes, schools, and communities.
